BRENHAM METEORITES
The Brenham Meteorites are one of the 24 finalist for the Kansas Sampler Foundations 8wonders of Kansas geography division. You can help make them one of the 8wonders of geography by casting your vote at www.kansassampler.org. Voting ends February 17th at midnight so don't delay. You can vote 3 times from each email address but don't forget to vote for 8 of the 24 finalists. After all in the 8wonders of Kansas categories Greensburg has the Big Well and Mullinville has the Round Barn, let's make this happen for Haviland and the Brenham Meteorites and give Kiowa County 3 8wonders.
5.4.7 ARTS CENTER PRESENTS MARC BERGHAUS
The exhibit, “Chance n’ Fate n’ Whatnot,” will be at the Arts Center from January 15th through February 28th.
An Artist’s Talk and Reception is scheduled for Saturday, February 13th at 7 p.m.
Mr. Berghaus is a Kansas artist who lives and works in Meade, KS. One of his primary artistic activities has been to create mechanical representations of “chance.” This show is a nice representation of his work with causality – how things happen, why they happen, and very importantly, why people think they happen. March utilizes 19th century, Newtonian technology: brass gears, motors, hand-built crank-shafts to capture Nature and chance.

HELP FOR HAITI
The Kiowa County Ministerial Alliance will be hosting a meeting on Thursday, February 11th beginning at 6 p.m. in the Greensburg Gymnasium to discuss the consolidated effort for local fundraising to help the Haitian mission of Lashbrrok Family Ministries (LFM) in Port-de-Paix.
LFM is a Christian Mission that consists of a boy’s home, girls home, orphanage-adoption service, church and school. Several of the buildings at the complex have been compromised due to the initial earthquake and the subsequent aftershocks.
The meeting will be a free will donation and will be added towards the $5000 seed money the KCMA will be putting towards the mission relief effort. The combined money will be put towards the construction of a 24 x 80 foot building, with volunteer assembly.
Donations can be made to the Kiowa County Ministerial Alliance and given to a member or mailed to KCMA, 205 S. Main St., Greensburg, KS 67054. All donations are tax deductible. Additionally if you would like to sign up for a mission group to travel to Haiti to help construct the building, please contact KCMA.
